Geocaching in Union County

Everybody likes a good “treasure hunt”. With the recent popularity of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, a whole new kind of treasure hunting has arrived called Geocaching. Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. Basically, it involves following a set of coordinates to a “hidden” location. These coordinates can be found online at sites like DiscoverOhio.com or www.geocaching.com.

A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache.

There are over 200,000 geocaches in Union County, Ohio. We’ve selected ten (10) geocaches in the immediate Marysville area. These caches are simple and should not require too much time or effort to find. Please note that some caches may involve walking in difficult terrain, poisonous plants, and venomous insects/creatures.

Individuals participating in geocaching do so at their own risk. The Union County Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Union County Chamber of Commerce and its affiliates are not responsible for accidents or injury. Please obey all appropriate laws and exercise extreme caution.

Pack any needed supplies such as water, food, extra clothing, cell phone, and a pen. A map and a compass is recommended.

For safety, let someone know where you are going.
